Welcome to Canadian Philosophy, a web portal dedicated to research on Canadian philosophers and Canada’s intellectual traditions. To understand contemporary Canada, it is necessary to appreciate the ideas which shaped Canadian society. This web portal has been developed to facilitate research on those philosophical ideas and the many people who developed them.

This website serves as a repository for writings from the history philosophy in Canada. Most of the writings collected here date from the 17th-century until 1970 and fall within the public domain. The site also includes biographies of the various philosophers whose works are discussed, comprehensive lists of their publications, and bibliographies of any secondary literature on them.

The Research page has introductory articles on Canadian philosophy. This web portal is regularly updated with additional writings, biographies, and bibliographies. Feel free to contact us with any questions and suggestions.
